You have a valid point. I would like to offer an example - Something as basic, fundamental, and essential as human wilderness survival as it relates to heat loss can be a light bulb moment for folks. The basic concepts may start out as a retention of a precious resource (body heat in this example) to innovating for prosperity. Teaching it to others you care about is the second phase, third is discovery of prosperous uses, and forth is generating prosperity/sharing the info with others and helping develop new markets where it can sustain or enhance its value. Look at this video and how Ron Hood addresses sustainability through focusing on the mechanisms that deplete the resource (well done in my opinion and perhaps a replicable format dealing with what I call phase one and two sustainability development) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOpLVQJWXR0 In the attached video example I like how Ron Hood uses the defined mechanism that attribute to resource loss (e.g. heat) as the same mechanism for solution and prosperity.

Thanks George, I really like this. I think this event was on the same night as KJZZ's Sprawl Town Hall. That's where I was. Evidence of lots of concern about converging issues. I wonder what you'll think of it when it gets on the radio. There was discussion of limits to growth but somehow little or no mention of water.

Brilliant and spot on. My personal wish and white knuckle desire is that someday people will refer to where they live by a neighborhood or unique district and not cross roads. All great places in the U.S. do this. This creates true community and personal pride. Think NYC bouroughs...

It is going to be fun to watch how this "growing up" in Tempe is going to change the landscape of the city. Hundreds of new residents in the Mill Avenue District along with the potential of more urban projects along the Apache Corridor have many of us watching the area very closely.

Excellent article. You should also point out that the $57 is only $3 a year more than SRP customers are currently paying toward these programs.
